Theravalley Silvermane Warhorses

Yet another proud sub-breed of the Windcliff Wild Horses, the Theravalley Silvermane Warhorses are actually the crossbreed in between the Whitemane and the Blackmane Clan's respective signature steeds, resulting in these beautiful smoky black horses covered in lovely snowy white spots.

The actual idea for such a breed came from the Duchess of Theravalley, Lady Thalia Therasdotter herself, who wanted to give to her wife no less than an entirely new breed of horses as a present for the 100th anniversary of their eloped marriage. Since her wife, Lady Gwendoline Silvermane, simply loves horses above anything else in the wolrd and is actually the fruit of the union in between the ruling amazon families of the Whitemane and the Blackmane Clans of Windcliff, it only made perfect sense mixing a pitch-black mare and a snow-white stallion to produce a horse with the same heritage as Gwen herself. However, instead of the final result being a gray horse like the expected, a tobiano spotted foal with a bright silver-hued mane was born, which ended being even more beautiful than anticipated.

Lady Gwendoline simply loved her present, naming the brand new horse "Silver" and thus denominating the entire new breed that was created solely for her as the Theravalley Silvermane Horses. She took this first stallion of the breed as her own personal steed, thoroughly breeding the stud with many white and black mares so to spread the breed throughout the whole Theravalley region. Surprisingly enough, the Silvermane horses turned out to also be an exceptionally well-rounded warhorse for the duchy's military, becoming highy effective in battle and thus the official mounts of Thalia's heavy cavalry regiments.

Back in Windcliff, many amazons frown upon a variation of their own horses being created and bred outside of Windcliff itself, but the new breed prospered a lot in the Theravalley Highlands. Each year the Silvermane Studs become more and more famous by winning jousts, races and agility competitions all over Arandolia thanks to their outstanding performance, being a great adversary to the best equine breeds of the nation.
