Amazon Tradition and Values

Arandolia may be a fertile land full of breathtaking landscapes and awe-inspiring natural wonders, but the Amazon people who inhabits those distant islands have passed through a lot of hardships there since the Great Amazon Exodus. The first amazon migrants who settled on Arandolian shores might have initially thought that they were safe and sound after fleeing from the genocide they faced in the ancient land of Hellas, but even on the secluded isolation of their new home at the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, harm still came their way.
Dire winters in the North, horrible storms in the West and crushing earthquakes in the East are commonplace around Arandolia, and so are ocasional invasions from unscrupulous foreigners. That not to mention all the Celts and Giants who already inhabited the archipelago long before the arrival of the hellenic amazons. It was a big struggle to carve their own place in this promised land, which wasn’t done without shedding both their own blood and their enemy’s blood too.

As such, the present culture and traditions of the Arandolian Amazons are very different from the original pacifist ways of their Heraian ancestors back in Greece. In order to survive, the amazons had to build their brand new civilization as a highly militaristic society, in which women are valued for their bravery and might on the battlefield above all else. Their commitment to defend their land and protect their beloved ones is absolute, while many of their customs are centered on warfare as a result.

Mothers teach their daughters how to fight from a rather young age, passing their strong and righteous valours from generation to generation, shaping the young ones to grow fierce and courageous, ready to be great warriors of their on when time comes to pass on the sword. All this strenuous training ends up shaping the Amazons' bodies to be quite fit and toned, so their society is by the most part composed of athletic young-looking women who never age. They are therefore very healthy women with strong libidos, having no shame of making love freely as their culture so openly permits and encourages. Their traditions perceive open sex and love to be something sacred and beautiful instead of profane like the rest of the western world, so public demonstrations of affection, lustful flirting and even openly talking about sex is something very common for them, especially amongst their families.

And speaking of families, there is absolutely nothing in the world that is more sacred for the Arandolian Amazons than their own kin. Family is everything for them, so they always keep close contact with their beloved ones, fighting like lionesses till their very death to protect their children and elders alike. Elders those who are also youthful and very experienced, fighting shoulder to shoulder by the other generations' side.

As Amazons completely stop aging upon reaching around the age of 20 to 25 years old, there are war veterans with literal centuries of combat experience on their backs, collecting scars and tales of war by the dozens to show and tell amongst friends around the campfire, where they sing merry songs of what they fight for: family, love, bravery and honour.
