Windcliff Wild Horses
The vast openness of the cold barren steppes of Windcliff are flat, mostly desolate and thoroughly covered in wild grass, making it the perfect habitat for the proliferation of wild horses. Roaming free around those lands, the herds of Windcliff Wild Horses are the fiercest, fastest, sturdiest and most resilient naturally-occuring horses of Arandolia, adapted to survive through the harshest of winters, resist long periods of food scarceness and fend off dire predators that crave for their flesh. The result of this are tough and very stubborn steeds, with such an intense temperament that for long they were believed to be ultimately untamable.

But things changed when, long ago, several wandering amazon nomads started worshiping Nephele, the amazon Goddess of Horses, as their main deity. Those amazons moved to the uninhabited steppes of Windcliff and settled down in small semi-nomadic communities revolving around the wild local herds of horses. With time, they established a bond with the majestic creatures, observing and learning everything about them. Horse whisperers finally managed to mount and tame the wildest of all horse breeds, not by breaking them, but by learning to respect and become one with them.

Thus were created the Roving Clans of Windcliff! Strengthened like never before by the unbreakable bond stablished between horse and rider, several clans thrived in a land no other amazon ever managed to call home before. Each particular clan upholding a unique subspecies of the Windcliff Stallion of their own, using the colour of their horses as both their flag and tribal name.

Up to this day, the Wild Horses of Windcliff are deeply respected and allowed to roam freely on the vast steppes. The equines that now live among the amazons are considered part of their tribe just like theit riders themselves. Many even becoming warhorses in order to do their own part in their new herd. The amazon herd.
