Hellensport River Guardians
The River Guardians of Hellensport earned that name from the simple fact that they are the elite and zealous defenders of River Gaia, which is by far the largest and most important river of Arandolia. That great river is what irrigates the highly fertile soil of the Kaiserin Lands, powering up countless water mills and also serving as the main trade way of the entire region. Its agricultural and economical importance is crucial for the entire nation's wellbeing, while it's also the fastest and easiest way of reaching the capital city of High Hera by water.

As such, the crown invested a great deal of money and resources in assembling the biggest and boldest women they could muster around the coastline. These promising and outstandingly strong women were hand-picked for their great natural physical might, receiving the honour of wearing the Queen's royal blue colours, while earning the low-ranking noble status of Dame to their names. Their new and sole purpose in life is to watch over the busy harbour districts of Hellensport, defend the margins of River Gaia and protect the way further inland towards the crown's seat of power. No matter the cost.
In times of peace, they work as city guards and countryside patrols, enforcing the Queen's Law on the local population. However, in times of war they are the ones to crush any invasion force coming for the city of Hellensport's sturdy walls. With their long and heavy-hitting Zweihänder Swords, the River Guardians make a stand and hold their ground up to the last woman standing, being the first and the last lines of defence from their beloved home.

Their armour is thick and it covers their entire bodies with full plate over a heavy chain mail hauberk, ensuring that they won't go down easily despite carrying no shields. It takes a lot of struggle to even tire or slightly damage a River Guardian, but as much as they are astounding fighters, no one is invincible. Thanks to the great reach and the sheer power of their Zweihänders, they can fight off enemy hordes of much greater numbers than their own, but when overwhelmed by such dire odds for too long, they will inevitably start to tire themselves and get slow in their movements. At that point, they already know that they might no longer win, but still they will stand up and fight on, up to their very last breath.

Tainted by either enemy blood or their own, River Gaia always runs red whenever war reaches its margins. The River Guards' strong sense of duty makes their morale nearly unbreakable when fighting for their homeland's safety, which means that, as long as at least one of them still breathes, River Gaia will keep fighting back against any incoming tides.
