Edgelander Serial Killers
Many things can drive a wicked Edgelander Amazon to kill. Greed, envy, wrath, vengeance, boredom, power struggle, cannibalism, mental illness, fear, sacrifices for Bloody Eris, and so many other things. But amidst all the countless murderers of that accursed region, only the infamous Serial Killers associated to the Murder Guild of Westmarsh commit premeditated murder just for the sheer sake of personal gratification.
Widely feared for their high unpredictability and almost poetic cruelty, those self-entitled Serial Killers transformed their compulsive murderous instincts into something that goes far beyond mere psychopathy. By creating the Murder Guild itself, an actually organized association of murderers spreads terror in Westmarsh and beyond, seeking random targets to strike down one after another, always having something like a common trait or theme to link their victims as a whole. The murderers also try their best to give their kills an unique touch of personal style, making it something in the likes of a "signature for their job". Most of them understand their murders as an actual form of art, sometimes even leaving macabre poems, drawings or even flesh sculptures on the crime scene, intendedly purposed to be found and become eye-catching headlines on the local newspapers.
The more infamy a given series of themed murders get, the more respected the murderess behind it will be amongst her peers within the Murder Guild. So the members of this macabre association compete against each others to see who gets the most shocking murderous spree of the year/decade/century/ever, growing bolder and even more sadistic with each fresh kill. It became something like a sport for them, with awards and medals being given to those who manage to achieve the highest rewards for their heads on their wanted posters.
Every murder accomplished by the award winners is meticulously documented in the guild's secret archives, where trophies, stolen treasures and assassination mementos are kept and displayed in a museum-like hall. Of course they worship the Fallen Goddess Eris of Chaos and Discord, dedicating many of their kills in her name in order to receive her wicked blessings, but yet their utmost motivation for the murders isn't religious on itself. It's for the thrill of the slaughter and for the artistic fulfillment that a psychopath can only achieve through spilling the blood of her victims, proudly marking it with their own horrid style.
