Battlefield Role: Light Infantry

Weapons: A sharp axe and a vast round wooden shield bearing the sigil of Bloody Eris. Also a short sword as a sidearm and, of course, blood-soaked severed human heads to hurl over the enemy ranks.

Outfit: Whichever they can scavenge from battlefield sites.

Skill level: Varies a lot amongst themselves.

Affiliation: The Edgelands

Doctrine: Eris' Way of the Wicked

Strengths: Intimidation. They wreak havoc on the enemy morale by tossing a volley of severed human heads soaked in quicklime.

Weaknesses: They rely a lot on sheer intimidation, as they aren't very well organized and don't fight extremely well.

Head Hurlers

Head Hurlers are some of the most gruesome enemies one can possibly find on either side of a battlefield. These wicked Edgelander warrioresses are quite macabre followers of Bloody Eris, the Fallen Goddess of Chaos and Discord. They have no honour, compassion or respect towards anyone. Especially towards the dead.

They usually make their living out of desecrating cemeteries, exhumating corpses and scavanging stuff from recent battlefield sites. Just like vultures, they can always be found preying on those who are no longer alive to defend themselves, filling their pockets with anything valuable they find on the disgusting rotting carcasses of the fallen, before walking away as if nothing out of ordinary happened.

Their usual loot includes second-hand weapons and armour, which they may later either sell or use to fight off the living when needed. And hell, they do fight the living quite well, using nothing less than the macabre to intimidate the shit out of their foes.

While searching for coins and valuable objects on the forgotten corpses that were left behind, the Head Hurlers make it up to their names by cutting off the heads of the poor dead bastards, dipping their victim's faces in quicklime to preserve it for later. They carry the heads around like ornaments hanging from their belts, and when they find a group of enemies to fight, they hurl a terrifying volley of gruesome carnage onto their foes, utterly terrorizing all but the bravest hearts and the thoughest stomachs.

Although the bloody heads themselves aren't very lethal, they do cause such a wave of psychological shock that the subsequent charge from the Head Hurlers is very likely to crush the morale of the enemy frontlines. Every new dead enemy means more valuables for those wicked vultures, as well as brand new fresh heads to be boasted on their belts after the battle.
