Weapons: Yew Longbow, 2 arrow quivers with 32 arrows each, a handaxe as a sidearm and a hunting knife attached to the left boot.

Outfit: A tactical corset, over a brigandine vest, over a sturdy chain mail. Reinforced boots, vambraces and archery gloves.

Skill level: Masters of archery. Chosen amongst the best archers of Eagle Island and trained to be unmatched sharpshooters.

Strengths: Outstanding marksmanship! Eagle Talons can outshoot any other ranged unit of Arandolia.

Weaknesses: Better to keep them away from melee confrontations.

The Eagle Talons are the deadly sharpshooter longbowmaidens of Eagle Island. Highly praised by their own kin and outfitted with top tier armour and bows, they're far better trained and equiped than the average longbowmaiden. Many even claim them to be uncontestedly the best archer regiments of Arandolia, and that's not an overstatement.

While the maximum range of a longbow is nearly the same to almost all longbows (about 300m), an average Longbowmaiden can only shoot an arrow with relatively good accuracy up to 200m away. That, of course, happening in a clean weather with no wind. More elite longbow units like the Arthemisian Huntresses and the Hawkwood Rangers can hit an arrow straight to its target at perhaps up to 225m in more unfavourable weather conditions, but the Eagle Talons can easily put them all to shame with their outstandingly sharp skills in archery.

An average Eagle Islander Sharpshooter can very well shoot an arrow across over 275m on a rainy and windy weather, landing it right on the center of the target and perhaps even dislodging their own previous arrow from there.

Thanks to their privileged genes that make them naturally tall, strong, slender and with a hell of a good eyesight, the native inhabitants of Eagle Island are simply perfectly built to be extraordinary archers. Their children start practicing archery for fun as soon as they can wield a bow, training so hard that by reaching 20 years old they are already proficient with the bow and arrow.

Since immemorial times, this archery tradition is fierce and widely spread all over Eagle Island, which makes the concentration of archers amongst their population very high. Archery competitions are the main sport on the island, in which only the very best sharpshooters are hand-picked for having the honour of becoming an Eagle Talon under Duchess Beatrice Adlerflügel's personal command. The Eagle Talons are, therefore, the actual best sharpshooters amongst the already awesome archers of Eagle Island, making them simply unequaled at their trade.
