Arthemisian Huntresses

The Arthemisian Huntresses aren't actual soldiers. As the name already states, they are hunters, who learned their archery skills primarily for putting fresh meat on their tables rather than to wage war. However, the same arrow that kills a stag, a wolf or a boar can also be used to hunt down human beings. So those huntresses are as much of a potential slayer of enemy soldiers as they are proven slayers of beasts already.

Even so, they are quite famous for avoiding any unessessary confrontations and for never killing any living creature, be it a plant, an animal or a human being, unless they really need to. Their nature-loving ways make them one with the forest that surrounds them, while their simple lives are deeply enrooted within the wilderness itself. They survive out of the bounty of the woods through foraging, fishing and (obviously) hunting for their subsistence only, always respecting nature and returning their gifts through planting more trees and being careful not to take too much from the environment. It is not an easy life, but it is a calm and very dignifying one, which the Arthemisians praise above all else in the world.

Such a green and peaceful life might be looked down by others, as there are many amazons from other regions, specially from the distant and opulent South of Arandolia, who underestimate the Arthemisians by taking their close bonds to nature for a weakness. However, such a fallacy is a complete absurd. A mistake that can very well mean anyone's ultimate demise in an actual confrontation against this valiant forest people.

Like any other ranged-focused infantry unit, the Arthemisian Huntresses are obviously not the best units at close quarters combat. The real talent of those huntresses lies in their powerful Longbows and in their highly deceptive stealth skills, which they hone and develop a lot at their daily struggle to feed their families. Pacifists or not, once threatened by foreigner invaders they are like a pack of dire wolves, more than ready and willing to get their claws soaked in blood in defense of their families and communal lands!
