Homeland: The League of the Amphitritian City-States

Distinctive Characteristics: Hair colour ranges from dark blonde to cinnamon and dark brown, which they always let grow long and adorn with colorful tapes, tiaras and accessories. Their olive skin gets discernibly more tanned than the average amazon.

Cultural Traits: Amphitritians are an adventurous, extroverted and very festive seafaring people. They are warm and caring to those close to them, but relentless in the enforcement of the law and very zealous towards their unbreakable faith in the Amazon Goddess of the Seven Seas. Justice and vengeance are as sacred as the Sea itself for them. They love their friends with the same blazing intensity that they hate their enemies.

Although it is a league of autonomous City-States, Amphitrite Bay surprisingly is a rather united region. Unlike the Athenian Amazons further North, the Amphitritian City-States are Oligarchies rather than Democracies, while their coastal geography with ample access to the sea enables them to focus on maritime trade and naval expansion instead of competing for local natural resources. The Amphitritian rulers reached a common agreement of monopoly concessions among themselves a long time ago, which made it much more profitable to work together rather than to wage war within their own shores.

As such, those amazons see themselves as a single kin, being ready and eager to defend their immediate neighbors shall the need arises. Their merchant and military fleets are the mightiest within the Arandolian Islands, as their sailors are the best when it comes to maritime navigation and naval battles. They pretty much own the rich and warm waters of the Southern Arandolian Sea, controlling all the trade routes from Hellensport to Westmarsh.
