Attire: A translucent cape over a (quite revealing) cyan ceremonial dress of pure silk.

Main Temple: The Great Temple of Hera, in the city of High Hera.

Scope: The hearts and minds of the amazon people. Hera created the amazons, so her priestesses zealously watch over them.

Powers: The highest ranking Priestesses of Hera can interfere in matters of state, economy, politics and war, while the low ranking priestesses still possess enough authority and religious influence to act as judges, defenders and prosecutors all around Arandolia.

As the supreme goddess of the Amazon Pantheon, Hera is worshiped not only as "the All-Mother" and creator of the amazons, but also as the Goddess of Immortality, Honour and Chivalry.

Her priestesses are, therefore, the most benevolent, righteous and devoted women in Arandolia. They have large temples, orphanages, hospitals, schools and monasteries in every major and minor city of Arandolia, doing a lot for the amazon population as a whole. It is their job to guide the people by example, taking care of the needy and defending the weak, educating the children and assuring that the amazon society always walks on the righteous path.

These priestesses' acts of benevolence and compassion deeply inspire the faithful, while the strict codes of good conduct that they enforce also greatly benefit the community by outright combating heresy, injustice and evil in any form. They are the ones who set the moral high grounds for the amazon people, thus holding immense religious power in their hands.

One fervorous speech is all it takes to drive vast masses of worshipers to passionately support whatever cause they might endorse. The Priestesses of Hera can even depose queens and noblewomen who do not rule with the people's best interests in their hearts, which makes the tight bond in between State and Religion even tighter in Arandolia.

As such, amongst the many priestesses devoted to the diverse goddesses of the amazons, the Priestesses of Hera are the most influent and powerful. They hold the divine right to meddle in the economy and in politics as they very well please, mediating diplomatic agreements and even interdicting laws or wars that they judge inappropriate or unrighteous under the eyes of the Amazon Supreme Goddess, who they so fervorously represent.

Their authority therefore reaches every corner of the land of the amazons, while their final word is absolute. Without their support, no amazon can rightfully exerce power in Arandolia. Their blessing is not only a divine matter of faith, but also a very important instrument of ligitimization and consolidation of the right to rule within the amazon society as a whole. Please them and you'll be generously rewarded, but if you ever step on their toes, you are absolutely done for.
