Hellenism and the Pantheon of Greco-Amazon Goddesses
Being thoroughly Hellenized back when the Amazons settled in Thrace during the Bronze Age, the most hegemonic religion within the Southern half of the amazon civilization is, up to today, Olympian Hellenism itself. Just like in the ancient Greek Religion and Mythology, there are Twelve Olympians as the major deities of the Hellenic Amazons. Many of the Amazon Goddesses, like Athena and Artemis, are the very same goddesses of the original Greek Pantheon, though all the male Gods have been replaced by other minor Hellenic deities like Amphitrite, Enyo and Aglaia, who were elevated to the respective major roles of Poseidon, Ares and Hephaestus.
This is because the amazon branch of the ancient Greek religion believes that Hera, the Queen of the Gods, got tired of her adulterous husband Zeus and decided to create a brand new lover for her own self. Deeply disgusted by the misogynistic ways of most males, She sculpted the most beautiful of all women in the finest white marble stone, though with the opposite reproductive organs in between her creation’s curvaceous legs. Once the sculpture was flawless and perfectly the way She wanted it, Hera breathed life into it and named her Lirith, the first seed-woman ever created. A lover way superior than Zeus himself in every regard as far as the legends tell, making Hera completely fall in love for her own creation, up to the point of elevating Lirith into a goddess in secret, just to make her precious lover immortal like Herself.
But legends also speak of Zeus finding out about his wife Hera’s affair with Lirith, losing his mind in wrath and hypocrisy, as he was the greatest adulterous husband of all. In his blind rage, he tried to destroy Lirith, only to be struck by his own fabled lightening bolts wielded by Hera herself.
Betrayed by his own wife, a wounded Zeus rallied most of the male gods of Olympus to kill Hera and her creation Lirith, while Hera made a stand and fought back, rallying all of the goddesses to protect her lover Lirith. A war among the Olympian Gods and Goddesses broke loose, in which many deities were destroyed. With the aid of Athena, Enyo, Artemis and even the wicked Eris on her side, Hera won that war by banishing Zeus and his followers to the underworld, taking the Olympus for herself and becoming known as true Queen of the Gods in the eyes of the Amazons.
Hera then named 11 goddesses plus herself as the new Olympian Pantheon, reinstating the Twelve Olympians as an all women enclave. The number twelve didn’t last too long though, as the wicked Eris had originally been named one of the major amazon goddesses for her crucial aid in the divine war, but she betrayed her own mother Hera in an attempt to take the throne of the heavers for herself. Eris was banished from Olympus for that, doomed to live among the mortals for the rest of her immortal existence. Thus the Amazon Pantheon now has 11 deities on it, plus the Fallen One, later known for their wicked heretic influence on the mortal souls as Bloody Eris.
