Battlefield Role: Medium-range Infantry
Weapons: Common flatbow, arrow quiver with 28 arrows and a short sword as a sidearm.
Outfit: Brigandine vest, a cape and reinforced archery gloves.
Skill level: Average archery trainment. Basic skills in melee.
Affiliation: The woody regions on Southeastern Arandolia.
Doctrine: Artemis' Way of the Huntress
Strengths: Very good accuracy at medium range and a very high rate of fire, excellent for shooting down light infantry units.
Weaknesses: Vulnerable in close quarters combat, specially against cavalry units. Their bows are also not powerful enough to penetrate heavy armour.
Flatbow Archers
Flatbows might not be nearly as powerful and long-reaching as longbows, but they have their advantages too. Flatbow Archers take half the time to master the proficiency of their weapons, which are so much easier to handle that any archer who wield a flatbow as their weapon of choice can fire significantly faster and more accurately than any overrated Longbowmaiden.

They can't pierce thick pieces of armour though, so they are better employed at shooting down light infantry units instead of heavily armoured ones. Actually, their high rate of fire makes them the highly efficient light infantry slayers on their own right.
A Flatbow Archer can easily shoot up to 8 arrows within one minute, while a longbowmaiden can only fire up to 5 and a crossbowmaiden much less than that. This means they can fly more arrows than the competition, hitting their targets with deadlier precision and aiming straight to the weak spots of the enemy armour.

As such, it is better not to underestimate those dangerous amazons, because they can, and will, make every last arrow on their quivers count.
