Copper Jailers

Copper Island has the largest convict population of Arandolia, actually importing convicted prisoners of grave felonies from all the other regions across the nation to employ as forced workforce at the filthy local mining and smelting facilities. As such, the most abundant and best paying job of Copper Island is guard duty at the many penitentiaries near those mines, which employ a great part of the native population of this barren volcanic island.

It's not an easy job, as most of the prisoners are quite dangerous, and neither is it pleasent, because watching convicts breaking rocks and melting ore all day long is boring as fuck. However, the payment is good and the life insurance is awesome, while the other options of work around Copper Island are basically either fishing, hauling or smithing.

Many of those prison guards are also trained in archery to act as sentries on the watchtowers, while all of them are required to have a great skill at non-lethal close quarters combat. After all, a dead prisoner won't be able to work, and someone has to mine those damn ores out of the ground, isn't it?
