Bearclaw Halberdiers
Bearclaw Pass is the bastion of defense at the easternmost corner of the Theravalley Highlands. It is the only passage leading into the region through the mountains, so the massive fortress erected there stands strong, garrisoned by some of the most proficient pike infantry amongst the amazons.

Wielding heavy well-balanced halberds crafted in the nearby Riesenberg City, the Bearclaw Halberdiers are rather well trained in both pole-arm and sword fighting, being quite versatile and flexible on the battlefield, just like most of the troops commissioned and maintained by Duchess Thalia Therasdotter herself. Their halberds are great wepons to stop even heavy cavalry charges, able to perform well against virtually any melee combatant they might face. The spearhead is excellent for fighting in formation, while the axehead can hook shields and take down light infantry with ease, and the spike can pierce through plate armour pieces. The haft is also reinforced, enabling the weapon to parry quite well and be difficult to break, while in the event of the fight getting too close, the Halberdier can very well draw her longsword and keep on fighting.

Whenever the Duchy of the Theravalley Highlands go to war, several regiments of Halberdiers from Bearclaw join the ducal armies to reinforce their flanks, making sure to render enemy outflanking maneuvers quite useless. Solid phalanxes keep any enemy at bay, and large contingents of longbowmaidens are usually assigned to provide them cover from enemy missile fire. Duchess Thalia cares a lot about her soldiers, and she always makes sure they are well assisted by each others in combat.
