Arthemisian Amazons
A.K.A.: "The Children of the Moon"; "Dryad-people".
Homeland: The Arthemisian Islands
Distinctive Characteristics: Light hazel is the predominant colour for both the hair and eyes of the Arthemisian Amazons, though dark blonde and red hair are common sight amongst them as well. They are known to be naturally slender and taller than other amazons, though that might arguably be a fruit of their rich diet.
Cultural Traits: Arthemisian amazons survive out of the bounty of the forests. Their respect for nature and active diligence at preserving it is unmatched, while their secluded lifestyle often earns them a misconcepted image of arrogance and apathy.

The amazons of the Arthemisian Islands are usually regarded by the rest of the amazon nation as deeply reclusive and unsocial "tree-hugging" people, who care a lot about nature and nothing about anybody who is not one of their own. It is so strong and widespread of a stereotype that many of the neighboring regions call them "Dryads" in a derogatory way, comparing the Arthemisian Amazons to the mythological Spirits of the Oaks that protect the forests in name of the Goddess Arthemis.

It's a reasonable analogy, as Arthemis is in fact the patron Goddess of Arthemisia and the Arthemisian amazons actually are blatant defenders of nature thanks to the valours of their deity. However, the mythological Dryads are also believed to be extremely shy creatures who avoid contact with people at any cost, and that's only partially true in relation to the Arthemisians.

It is true that their archipelago is a naturally secluded region from the Arandolian mainland, while the self-sufficient and profoundly sustainable ways of the locals discourage trade relations with off-shore ports, but that doesn't mean the Arthemisian population is blind to what happens all around them. Their isolationism policies should not by any means be regarded as apathy, because many times they have proven themselves to be quite the opposite of indifferent.
A strong cultural trait of not meddling in other people's businesses prevent Arthemisian amazons from intervening on any conflict that doesn't directly concerns them, though if nature is under threat on other parts of Arandolia or if their fellow amazon kin is in dire straits, they are surprisingly the first amazons to act. It's not an uncommon sight to see Arthemisian Huntresses and Ulfsarks coming to other regions in order to reforest an burnt down woodland after a wildfire, or bring humanitarian help to victims of a natural disaster without even being asked to help. Any amazon who endured a calamity usually speaks outstandingly well about the "Children of the Moon", whose compassion in someone's moment of greatest need by far surpasses their reclusive and antisocial ways.
